Before and After

Stone Wall Builds

When we got to this job the stone wall had water seeping through it.  The water was also coming up from the cove joint where the wall meets the floor.  We first stabilized the home, then installed our drain tile waterproofing and sump pump.  Once this was in place we built up the stone wall and did a skim coat finish.  The reason this wall failed is because it did not have the proper waterproofing in place, and the concrete walkway outside was sloped towards the foundation.

Dig and Push

The reason this wall failed was because it had poor exterior drainage for a long time, leading to basement leaks and bowing walls every-time the rain falls. So what'd we do? We raised the house, excavated, pushed the wall back to a level condition, stabilized the wall with beams, and then repaired the cracks and backfilled the trench. We also extended the downspouts, raised a window well, and brought in dirt to grade so water flows freely away from home.

Waterproofing

Here we installed a sump pump, did some crack repair, and installed a window well.  They had water coming in the basement through the window, and from cracks i the wall.  That was solved with the epoxy injection, and the window well drain. The water that was coming up from the floor will now be pumped outside, thanks to the newly installed sump pump.

Landscaping

Here the problem was runoff water from the driveway.  This led to the dirt washing away and over time, eventually creating a worse grade.  We installed a french drain to reroute the water, and brought in dirt to ensure that the new sod would have a solid grade.

Piers and Egress Windwow

Here the issue with the home was settlement.  Some areas are known for settling due to clay subsoils expanding and contracting.  We drove steel into the ground here, and raised/stabilized the foundation.  Doors were sticking and floors were shifted upstairs.  We made sure to get the door working properly and got the floor back to as level condition as possible.  We also installed an egress window to increase the square ft of the house!
